All full time students are required to take a 15-minute break twice per day and 1/2 hour lunch.

Part time students are required to take one 15-minute break per day.

ATTENDANCE PROGRESS:

Students must maintain an average of 80% or more attendance to be considered satisfactory.
ACCORDING TO STUDENTS INDIVIDUAL SCHEDULE, THE TIME ELAPSED HOURS ARE DIVIDED INTO ACTUAL HOURS ATTENDED. THIS IS FIGURED ON A MONTHLY ACCUMULATIVE BASIS.


ACADEMIC PROGRESS:

Theory, Practical and clinic work will be graded according to the following scale:

Practical & Clinic Theory

4 Excellent 90-100 A
3 Good 79-89 B
2 Satisfactory 75-78 C
0 Fail 0-74 F

Practical and Clinical grades will be averaged together to arrive at a monthly average.

Students must maintain a C average (75%) to have satisfactory progress. Students will be counseled if they fall below satisfactory Progress.

Evaluation of progress will be conducted by the Director of Education on a monthly basis.

THE STUDENTS MUST MEET BOTH ATTENDANCE AND ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS.


NEVADA STATE REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSE:

The board shall admit to examination for a license as a Cosmetologist, at any meeting of the board held to conduct examinations, any person who has made application to the board in proper form and paid the fee, and who before or on the date of the examination:
  1. is not less than 18 years of age;
  2. Is of Good moral character;
  3. Has successfully completed the 10th grade in school or its equivalent;
  4. Has had either one of the following:
  • Training of at least 1800 hours in a school of cosmetology approved by the state board.
  • Practice of the occupation of a Cosmetologist for a period of 1 year outside the State of Nevada.
